The Norwegian Registers of Fishing Boats are available online by clicking on the link. These cover approximatley every second year from 1922 to 2002.

The Norwegian Port Letters and Numbers are made up of three rather than the usual two parts. The first/leftmost letter denotes the Fishery District, the right hand letter/s denote the Home Port within that Fishery District and the number between the two sets of letters is that particular boat’s number within her Home Port.

For example: In 1922 F-4-H, the Lyngen was from the District of Finnmark and No 4 in the port of Hammerfest in that District.
